Yesterday, I was flipping through this month's Vogue and stumbled upon a pic of this dress in bright orange.
Why do I not own this? What hurts my heart most about not being able to acquire this dress is that it is available via H&M. Alber Elbaz of Lanvin has created this dramatic confection for the illustrious yet elusive chain, and....none exist in Bryan/College Station or Houston (sniff sniff).
My first meeting with H&M occurred the summer of 2001 when I was visiting Berlin. My friend Neysa and I decided it stood for Hoch & Moeglichkeit, which would literally translate as High & Possibility, and I think that is appropriate still.
Cut to the summer of 2006, and one would find me in NYC ransacking the 5th Avenue location.
Alas, the closest H&M appears to be in Atlanta, which is entirely irrational as far as I'm concerned.
Your assignment for today, faithful readers, is to let us all know what you are excited to wear (or wish you could wear) to a holiday party.
Gute Wochenende mit viel Hoch & Moeglichkeit!
I wish I had a great pair of red heels and a killer top to go with them! Alas, I'll be donning my yellow flats and long sleeve white tee with blue scarf and khaki 3/4 length jacket from Cold Water Creek with my favorite pair of blue jeans. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteSarabeth,
ReplyDeleteI have good news for you... H&M is opening a store in Dallas! My friend works at North Park Mall and said there is a pop-up H&M open now! I assume it's just for the holidays. The permanent location will open up next fall.
I am going to shop for something with glitz and glamor for holiday parties while I'm in Dallas this weekend! I'm hoping to find a red dress and pair it with leopard heels.
I heard about that back when I worked at Tiffany & Co. I was in the Galleria but knew the director of the Northpark location. I'll be in Dallas over Christmas so I'll have to check the pop-up out! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhoah... it's getting really fancy in here! Love the new look!
ReplyDeleteHoch und Moeglichkeit! On the Kud-a-ma-damm! Best. Shopping. Ever.
ReplyDeleteI sure do miss H&M since I moved away from Boston. Glad to hear of a new Dallas location!
